Getting Started with Jazz Improvisation (FREE Music)

Getting Started with Jazz Improvisation originally was a handout created by Jerald Simon for the piano teachers of the UMTA (Utah Music Teacher’s Association) – one of the chapter of the MTNA (Music Teacher’s National Association). Jerald had been asked to give a masterclass workshop to the piano teachers who attended the UMTA State Conference. Jerald presented on how teachers could start introducing jazz improvisation into their studios and begin teaching students about jazz. Have FUN playing this! Go on…Have FUN with this!

Getting Started with Jazz Improvisation began as a simple 2 page handout that ended up as a 25 page mini-workbook. This is a FREE PDF handout that you can use to learn more about jazz improvisation. If you are a piano teacher, please feel free to print this off for all the students in your studio.

When you sign up for the COOL SONGS Package as a piano teacher, you are then licensed to print off the music for the students in your studio. This license never expires for the piano teacher’s studio. They also have access to previous Cool Songs from the annual subscription.
